Executive Board

President - Paul Fuerte

Paul is excited to be this years President, working to increase inclusiveness and member involvement to promote STEAM am further push our objective of developing our members professionally. Paul is currently pursing his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and expects to graduate in May 2020.

Chief Technical Officer - Brian Bowling

Brian is thrilled to be this year’s CTO, working with the team to ensure the passing down of project knowledge using documentation in all sections and collaboration on Rocket Project’s internal wiki page. He is currently pursuing his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. He has been a member of Rocket Project for the last three years and has gotten a taste of every section RP has to offer.

Treasurer - Marcus Reed

Marcus is excited to take on the challenge as this years treasurer hoping to help take this team to greater heights than ever before. He is currently pursuing his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and will be working as a grader this semester for the fluid mechanics labs.

Outreach Manager - Luke Hedberg

Luke is passionate about being this year’s Outreach Manager. As manager, Luke will be directing Rocket Project’s public relations, member resources, recruitment, communications and social media. Furthermore, Luke serves as the College of Engineering Student Council Rocket Project representative. Luke is pursuing his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and has been an active member of Rocket Project since 2017.

Secretary - Kendall Miller

Kendall is excited to be Secretary this year to work on organizing paperwork, travel documentation, and communication with the team. She is currently a sophomore pursuing a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. Kendall plans to keep learning in the Structures section, while learning the important administrative component of Rocket Project.

Section Managers and Engineers

Icarus Project Manager - James Gault

As project manager, James is responsible for overseeing his team’s current project, an actively guided solid rocket. He is a fourth year Aerospace Engineering student minoring in Computer Science and is also a master builder at buildIT @SDSU Library.

Chief Safety Officer - Joseph Randazzo

As Chief Safety Officer it is Joseph's job to ensure all aspects of the team are performed in a safe manner by ensuring all members receive the necessary training and ensuring all new members are aware of all safety rules. Joseph reviews any incidents that occur in order to help prevent them from reoccurring in the future. Joseph also works with the university to ensure all safety protocols are followed.

Avonics Manager - Walker Davidson

Walker is a Senior Aerospace Engineering major who has been involved with the team for a year. He has led the avionics development of Lady Elizabeth, the ACS, and a variety of other innovative avionics challenges. Many of these challenges have developed his skills in Python, PCB design and development, and circuit design.

Propulsions Manager - Olivia deCaro

Olivia is proud to be this years propulsions manager, working with the rest of the team to teach students the basics of rocket propulsions, engineering design, and how to collaborate effectively with other students as a team. She is currently pursuing her B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and minoring in Mathematics. Olivia has also been involved in Team Icarus and SDSU Associated Students.

Manufacturing Manager - Sean O'Niel

Sean is excited to be this year’s Manufacturing Manager and intend to share my knowledge on the various manufacturing processes by improving Rocket Project's efficiency and accuracy when it comes to producing our own parts in house. I'm a second year Aerospace Engineering major, working as a stainless-steel welder, while pursing entrepreneurship.

Structures Manager - Jarod Heise

Jarod is excited to take the role of Structures Lead for the 2019-2020 school year. His section's goal is to design and test the load bearing structures for our new rocket. His main focus this year is to get more new-member involvement in complex structures and create an engaged and organized group of members who are interested in rocketry. Jarod is pursuing a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and is also associated with the SDSU MESA program.

Fluid Systems Manager - Thomas Ridgeway

Thomas is a sophomore Aerospace Engineering Student and second-year member of Rocket Project. As fluid systems manager he is responsible for overseeing the design and assembly of the plumbing and fluid system components on our rocket. Thomas has prior experience building high-power solid rockets and is level 1 HPR certified.
